The Pneumatic butterfly valve is operated by a pneumatic actuator consisting of a metal disc that rotates around the body and initiates a sealing ring around the circumference of its elastic seat. The stem can be centrally mounted or offset mounted. In large plants such as refineries and power generation facilities, a high performance butterfly valve can be seen with a gearbox actuator and flywheel connection through its body.
